On the left bank of the Main opposite the old town is Frankfurt’s Sachsenhausen district. Sachsenhausen is known far beyond the borders of Frankfurt on the one hand for the Ebbelwoi district and on the other hand for the Museumsufer, the art and culture mile of the Main metropolis, with its 13 museums (including the Städel Museum, Film Museum). Two pedestrian bridges, the Eiserne Steg (1869) and the Holbeinsteg (1980), connect Alt-Sachsenhausen and the Museumsufer with Frankfurt.
Cider bars, cafés, bars, bistros, gourmet shops, noble boutiques, trendy meeting places, lifestyle shops and branch shops line up here. In the summer of each year, the “Swiss” invites you to one of the most beautiful and largest street festivals in Frankfurt. Schweizer Straße is just a 3-minute walk from the boarding house.
